CLAV Breathe: iron supplement to support normal oxygenation
We only notice it when something is wrong: our breathing. On average, an adult breathes in and out between 12 and 15 times per minute at rest. Every breath sends 0.4 to 0.5 litres of fresh air through our body, providing us with new energy. Breathing is an extremely complex process, which mostly happens subconsciously.
A particularly important nutrient needed for the transport of oxygen through our body is iron. Iron is involved in the production of red blood pigments (haemoglobin). Iron also supports haemoglobin in binding the absorbed oxygen to these red blood cells, allowing it to be distributed through the blood vessels to the muscles and cells.
The German Nutrition Society has defined the daily recommended requirement of iron to be 10 to 15 mg, depending on age and gender.

The effects of iron deficiency on oxygen transport
A general iron deficiency, caused by an insufficient diet, external or even genetic influences, leads to anaemia in the human body. Anaemia refers to a lack of red blood pigments (haemoglobin). Signs of anaemia include pallor, difficulty concentrating, reduced performance and being susceptible to infections.
In the case of iron deficiency and associated anaemia, the absorbed oxygen can no longer be adequately distributed throughout the body, which can lead to attacks of weakness, fatigue and exhaustion.
These symptoms only occur when the body's iron reserves are depleted. In order to avoid this, it is important to ensure that the body is always supplied with enough iron.
Since the body cannot produce iron by itself, this nutrient must be taken in through a balanced diet. Iron can be found above all in beans, pomegranate, beetroot, beef and dark green, leafy vegetables such as spinach. Additionally, it is also recommended to consume a lot of vitamin C, since vitamin C in turn increases the body's ability to absorb iron. Bell peppers, strawberries, oranges, lemons and broccoli contain high levels of vitamin C.

However, if the body's iron requirements cannot be satisfied through the diet, iron supplements such as CLAV BREATHE can be used to help refill these iron stores every day. Among other ingredients, CLAV BREATHE contains 14 mg of iron, which covers your daily requirement and 80 mg of vitamin C, which increases the absorption of iron. The copper contained in CLAV BREATHE also helps to transport iron through the body.
